May-Hikes, Bikes & Other Likes
It's has been interesting discovering the programs that pertain to this month's topic. I started to realize early on that there is a real difference in this type of travel experience. First, there is the urban/ rural/ natural world division. And then the more critical, introvert seeking wisdom ( or some sort of understanding) and then again a more social traveler looking for some knowledge to be added to their palette of information. I'll let you do the analytical assessment in terms of what you are passionate about. I've decided to present the weekly posts of Hikes, Bikes, Other Likes and Pilgrimage. I'm enjoying this search.
We are located 40 miles NE of Asheville, in one of the most diverse temperate ecosystems in the world. The Black Mountains, the tallest peaks east of the Mississippi, rise above the Toe River Valley.
The Assault on Mt. Mitchell is a 102.7-mile self-paced ride from Spartanburg Memorial Auditorium in downtown Spartanburg, South Carolina, along the Blue Ridge Parkway, to the summit at Mt. Mitchell State Park in North Carolina—a total vertical ascent of more than 10,000 feet.
As a county of South West England, Wiltshire holds an incredible, 6000 years of human history. Traces of our earliest ancestors can be found in its landscapes and stories. This incredible experience gives you the opportunity to use our local expertise and walk at two UNESCO world heritage sites, that of Stonehenge, and the Georgian city of Bath
The magic of Florida surrounds you at Ichetucknee State Park. The 3.5 mile float from the north end to the southern most take out point on the Ichetucknee River is one of the best ways to experience Florida. The water is crystal clear and a refreshing 72.6 degrees year round. The gentle, slow moving current will carry you past a variety of wildlife including fish, turtles, otters, beavers and an occasional manatee.
I highly recommend seeking out the most walkable streets in the world. This would be considered a best one. Spend a week and take several of these tours to savor this amazing city.

You will paddle more continuous whitewater in a week than one can usually do in a year’s worth of boating.
Whether you go to the headwaters of the Ganges or walk the camino de santiago, each journey will define your future.
